STAR GUARDIAN

Immersive narrative mini-game & marketing content for one of Riot Games' most beloved campaign launches

Riot Games approached our team to develop an immersive mini-game for one of their most beloved League of Legends thematics, Star Guardian - a sprawling storyline filled with trust, grit, friendship and unity as some of League's most popular champions took on the forces of evil.

Accessible via the main Riot Games PC client, our team of designers & animators worked tirelessly with client and partners to write, design, and develop a deep mini-game narrative to invite players worldwilde back into the celestial heavens of Star Guardian. Additionally, we developed the primary marketing content interface within the hub to house purchasable cosmetics and various other items.

My role included overall creative direction, art direction and oversight over all UI and motion work. Big thanks to the team and our partners at Bond for their hard work on this launch.

MARKETING LAUNCHER

My team at ThinkingBox was also responsible for user experience & interface design for the primary marketing launcher, which greeted players with a dual-themed experience to view campaign content and purchase cosmetics for Star Guardian.

The campaign was a huge success and became one of Riot's most popular narrative events of the summer. Big shout out to Krystyn Claire, Coco Petersen, Annie Myron, and the entire Thinkingbox motion design team for their monumental efforts in bringing this to life.
